The off variation

Configure the value served when a flag is turned off.

Overview

The off variation is the value served when the flag toggle is OFF.

Off variation is distinct from SDK fallback arguments in application code.

Off variation comes from flag configuration. SDK fallback arguments are only used when SDK state is not ready or the key is missing.

Off variation should be intentionally chosen for safe rollback behavior.

Set the off variation

Set the off variation from serving controls on the flag detail page.

After saving, OFF state always serves the selected variation regardless of ON targeting rules.

  1. Open the flag detail page.
  2. Locate off variation controls in serving/default section.
  3. Select the desired variation.
  4. Save changes.
